Our Voter Guide for the 2024 Election
Cupertino City Council
Hung Wei
Hung Wei is the consistent leader that Cupertino needs to successfully navigate the City’s upcoming challenges. She has a quiet integrity, the habit of listening to others, and always looks for innovative ideas to solve problems. Her major campaign priorities are improving housing and transportation, protecting the environment and bettering school programs. In 2007, Wei was appointed to the FUHSD Board of Trustees, on which she served for 11 years while volunteering as a board member at the Northwest YMCA and the Asian American Parent Association. She was also the President and then the District Governor of Rotary Club of Cupertino. She has served for the last 4 years in the Cupertino City Council as well as Mayor for one year. We are grateful for her vast experience of service to Cupertino, and her recognition that she serves all Cupertino residents, including homeowners, students, day workers, and future residents. We are very pleased to offer our enthusiastic endorsement for her re-election to the Cupertino City Council.
Rod Sinks
Rod Sinks brings a unique perspective to the negotiations for the future of the former Vallco site. He was on the City Council when the original designs were proposed. He also approved the Main Street Project and the SV Hopper shuttle program while on City Council. As an FUHSD Board Member he advanced climate education. Now he has jumped back onto the scene to help salvage the community benefits that were originally planned before they were discarded by the anti-development forces that took control in 2020-22. His vision is to rescue the idea of a world-class Cupertino Downtown. We are excited to have him back in a leadership position and we enthusiastically endorse his election to the City Council.
Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors
Margaret Abe-koga
Margaret Abe-Koga is an exceptional, dedicated leader in our community. She has a broad understanding of the needs of our region and we trust that she will support smart, inclusive housing and alternative transportation solutions for the future. We endorse her for Santa Clara County Supervisor.
State Assembly
Patrick Ahrens
Patrick Ahrens has been the most effective leader for affordable housing in generations. He led the passage of a $200 million dollar housing bond for Foothill De Anza College students, staff, and faculty. He saw the need and chose to act, not waiting around for local cities to act on the housing crisis. He also negotiated for a new full-service healthcare center at De Anza College that will serve all members of the community. We enthusiastically support him to continue his leadership in the California State Assembly!
California Propositions
